Who are we?

Mike Byrne

Growing up in old houses, Mike first fell in love with the trades at a very early age. While most kids grow up watching cartoons on a Saturday morning, Mike was watching his idols, Tom Silva and Norm Abram, on This Old House and New Yankee workshop.

At 13 years old, Mike started working for a commercial concrete company in northeast Ohio. He started by loading trucks, scraping forms, and cleaning up job sites. Mike worked there over the next 13 years, performing everything from small finishing jobs to large jobs like Fed Ex warehouses and super flat floors at Gojo Industries. Through the years he learned to form and finish concrete, stain and seal concrete, complete precision grinding, and other masonry work. During slow months, Mike would do rental refreshes, old house repairs, hardscaping, concrete repairs, and residential renovation projects.

Mike left the trades when he moved to Columbus to become an Art Teacher, but the urge to create and build never left him. This passion led Mike to be one of the founders and the operator of Lineage Brewing where he developed a reputation for being a jack-of-all-trades, hardworking, honest, and trustworthy. Although Mike loved the brewery business, after almost 8 years, the founders sold the business to focus more on their families.

Mike has now returned to his roots as a maker; building, fixing, and restoring homes to meet top-quality expectations. If you have a small project around your house, you can have confidence that Mike will do the job right.
